Increasing Low-Temperature Toughness of 09Mn2Si Steel through Lamellar Structuring by Helical Rolling

The aim of the paper was to investigate helical rolling parameters (a number passes) for microstructural modification and low-temperature impact toughness improvement 09Mn2Si High Strength Low-Alloyed (HSLA) steel. In order achieve this purpose, work spent crack initiation propagation analyzed compared with patterns fracture surfaces. microstructure values were presented in temperature range from +20 –70°C. Also, mechanisms individual regions on surfaces discussed. addition, a methodology computer simulation process developed implemented within framework excitable cellular automata method its integration kinetic theory fracture. Finally, theoretical analysis effect grain shapes orientations strain response certain meso-volume simulating material after carried out.
